A Hard-Fought Victory..
On the face of it, a 3–0 away win looks good, but it was not as easy as the scoreline suggests.
Epsom & Ewell 3–0 Guildford City
Bedfont Sports 2 – Epsom & Ewell 0 Against higher-league Step 4 side Bedfont Sports, the Salts produced a hard-working performance, particularly in the first half.
Epsom & Ewell FC continued their pre-season preparations with an inter-squad match that offered valuable minutes, testing conditions, and promising performances from both senior players and rising Colts.
For our third pre-season game, we took on Step 6 side Westside FC, who were Combined Counties Division One runners-up last season and narrowly missed out on promotion in the play-offs. On paper, this could be considered a fairly even match.
A competitive pre-season match saw Epsom & Ewell FC narrowly lose 2-1 to Step 3 side Cray Valley Paper Mills, despite a strong performance and a stunning early free-kick from new signing Tom Collins.
A confident and encouraging start to pre-season for Epsom & Ewell, who overcame a spirited Richmond & Kew side with a 5–1 victory, showcasing attacking flair and squad depth.
