Kevin Kardel retained his place in goal, with Dan O’Donovan still injured. Up front, there was a welcome return for Carl Oblitey.
The Salts started very slowly and fell behind after just seven minutes when a blocked shot was fired home. The deficit doubled in the 16th minute, as Kareem Foster scored at the second attempt. The Salts were struggling, but goalkeeper Kevin Kardel then pulled off a fantastic save to keep them in the game. In the final 15 minutes of the half, they began to grow into the match. However, they went into the break 0-2 down, facing a mountain to climb.
Epsom & Ewell made changes for the second half, with Nicolas Bostan making way for Callum Wilson at the back. Niall Stillwell was booked. Nathan Best was then replaced by Ethan Nelson-Roberts.
On the hour mark, the Salts pulled one back when an Ali Fofahan corner beat the goalkeeper and defenders, flying straight into the net to make it 1-2. In the 76th minute, Will Kendall replaced Ali Fofahan.
The equaliser arrived in the 81st minute. A Luke Miller corner was flicked on by Will Kendall and Callum Wilson, before Craig Dundas fired home. The Salts continued to push forward in search of a winner but had to settle for a point.
A much-improved second half with some good football.
