It was another hard-fought game for the Salts against North Greenford, a team sitting second in the Combined Counties League North. Several changes were made to the lineup, including the return of three previously suspended players. Greenford showed how dangerous they were early on, quickly forcing three corners.

The Salts went on the attack, opening the scoring in the tenth minute when Ethan Nelson-Roberts delivered a superb cross for Ali Fofahan, who powered a thunderbolt shot into the back of the net. The Salts maintained their momentum and displayed some excellent football, but we still had to stay on our guard. Toby Young made two crucial interceptions in the box—one inside the six-yard area and another with a headed clearance over his own bar. In the 26th minute, an appeal for a penalty was turned down. We continued to press and in the 39th minute, a free-kick into the box nearly found Adam Green, who would have doubled the lead with a diving header. Despite this pressure, the score remained 1–0 at half-time.

In the second half, North Greenford created a few chances, and in the 53rd minute, Dan O’Donovan made a superb, crucial save low to his right while moving to his left. An equaliser so early in the half could have shifted the game’s momentum. However, we defended well, and Dan was only called upon for routine saves.

In the 55th minute, a brilliant pass from Luke Miller found Ali Fofahan, who fired home from 20 yards to secure his brace. Michele Uche Maccari came on for Nelson-Roberts in the 75th minute, and in the closing stages, Will Kendall replaced Fofahan, the two-goal hero, in the 84th minute. The Salts continued to hold strong defensively and threatened on the break, with Adam, Michele, and Will all narrowly missing good chances. The referee added six minutes of injury time, but the Salts held on.

It was a fantastic all-round team performance, with a clean sheet, two excellent goals, and progression to the third round of the Cup. The next round will be played on Saturday, 7th December, with the draw scheduled for Monday.
