Against undefeated Fleet Town, the Salts had to make a few changes due to suspensions and injuries. New player Conrad Essilfie-Conduah was named on the bench. In front of a solid home crowd of 148, and with a large number of mascots present, there was a party atmosphere.

The Salts started as the better team but were soon pegged back when Matt Surmon scored for Fleet Town in the 12th minute. The Salts responded immediately, and under pressure from Carl Oblitey, Fleet scored an own goal to make it 1-1 in the 14th minute. The Salts continued to push, and Fleet committed some harsh tackles, resulting in a couple of bookings. The score remained 1-1 at half-time.

In the second half, the Salts played some good football and took the lead in the 71st minute when Ali Fofahan crossed for top goal-scorer Carl Oblitey to score with a header from six yards out. Carl had a couple more close chances but just couldn’t find the finish he needed. The Salts made two substitutions, with David Romer and Conrad Essilfie-Conduah (making his debut) coming on for Niall Stillwell and Jason Bloor.

In the 85th minute, Fleet substitute Dan Bone scored the equaliser. The game ended 2-2, marking an incredible fourth consecutive 2-2 draw for the Salts. It was a solid result against a top side. We now move on to two cup games at home on Tuesday and Sunday, both matches being played against Berks County FC.
