Further to James Scott’s recent announcement to depart from Epsom and Ewell F.C., we would like to thank James for taking on the monumental task of building and delivering a new squad and management team from scratch at the beginning of the season.

The squad that has been assembled is full of bright young talent which was part of his promise, as this was not a short term assignment but a three-year project.

It did not work out the way everyone wanted it to, bad luck, injuries, we could carry on, but James always gave 100% on and off the field.

Those that had the privilege to talk about football with him, would know he was articulate, dedicated, honest and passionate about his style of play, but was also old school and would take no nonsense.

We know James has no regrets and said “it was nice to be able to do it his way”.

But there comes a time in life when other things are more important than football, and it was the right time for James to be honest enough to put himself and his family first.

We wish him all the success in the future and he knows that we are, and always will be, here for him.

The Committee are contemplating its options, as we have an important game on Saturday.
