With seven out of nine points taken already in March, we look to be keeping pressure on Shoreham, even if they have a game in hand we will still be looking to consolidate second spot for the playoffs. With only six games left of the normal season, a big push now would leave us in great form for what might come.
A stop-start season for Mile Oak so far. With two heavy defeats at the start of the season away to Wick and Hailsham Town respectively, the thinking may have been about survival before anything. However, if you fast-forward to six games left of the season, Mile Oak sit just below mid-table (10th out of 17.) With some impressive results throughout the league campaign, for example, taking four points off of promotion hopefuls Arundel and even taking Premier side Midhurst & Easebourne to a penalty shoot-out in the SCFA RUR Charity Cup back in October.
We haven’t faced Mile Oak this season after a few cancellations and now face them twice in a matter of weeks. We first faced Mile Oak last season, which was our first season in the Southern Combination League. But before we faced them in the league in October 2021 which ended in a 7-1 win at Fetcham Grove, we welcomed them in FA Vase 2nd Qualifying Round a month before, where we ran out 4-0 winners in Darren Anslow’s first game in charge for the club.
We have a small update on the squad after a few new signings, with a couple of players having slight injuries which will keep them out for one to two weeks, we look to have a large squad available for selection as we start the run-in.
